1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Clothing Photos: Images you take or upload of your clothing items.
• Wardrobe Metadata: Descriptions, categories, colors, brands, and other details about your clothing, whether entered by you or generated by AI.

Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: We access your approximate location to provide weather-based outfit suggestions. Location is used only for weather lookups and is not stored on our servers.
• Usage Analytics: We collect anonymous usage data such as app feature usage, session duration, and crash reports to improve the App. This data is not linked to your identity.
• Device Information: Basic device information (model, OS version, app version) for compatibility and troubleshooting.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or other personal contact information (no user accounts are required at this time).
• We do not collect photos from your camera roll beyond those you explicitly provide to the App.
• We do not collect biometric data, health data, or financial information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide Core Features: Analyze clothing photos using AI to categorize items, suggest outfit combinations, and offer weather-appropriate recommendations.
• Improve the App: Understand usage patterns and fix bugs through anonymous analytics.
• Deliver Weather Data: Use your location to fetch current weather conditions for outfit suggestions.

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or build advertising profiles.

3. AI Processing

Grayne uses a combination of on-device and cloud-based AI to analyze your clothing photos:

• On-Device Processing: Some AI analysis happens directly on your device and never leaves it.
• Cloud Processing (Google Gemini): When you add clothing items, photos and item descriptions are sent to the Google Gemini API (operated by Google LLC) for advanced analysis, including color identification, category classification, and outfit suggestion generation. Images and descriptions are transmitted securely over TLS and are not retained by Google beyond the time required to complete the analysis request. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

What data is sent to Google Gemini:

• Photos of clothing items you add to your wardrobe
• Text descriptions and metadata about your clothing items (color, category, brand)

What is NOT sent: No name, email, location, or device identifiers are included in requests to Google Gemini.

You will be asked to consent to AI photo processing during onboarding. You can change this preference at any time in Settings.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your wardrobe data (photos, metadata, preferences) is currently stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a copy on external servers.
• Security: We use industry-standard practices to protect data during any cloud transmission, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL).
• Data Retention: Since data is stored locally, it persists on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.

If we introduce user accounts or cloud sync in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify you before any change takes effect.

5. Third-Party Services

We may use the following categories of third-party services:

• Weather APIs: To provide weather data based on your location. These services receive your approximate location but no personal identifiers.
• Google Gemini API (Google LLC): To process clothing photos and descriptions for categorization and outfit generation. Data is transmitted securely and not retained by Google beyond the duration of each request. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Analytics Services: To collect anonymous usage statistics. No personally identifiable information is shared.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices

All Users

• Delete Your Data: You can delete individual clothing items or your entire wardrobe at any time within the App. Since data is stored locally, deletion is immediate and permanent.
• Location Access: You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device's Settings. Weather-based features will be limited without location access.
• Analytics Opt-Out: You can disable analytics sharing in the App's settings.

California Residents (CCPA Rights)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
• Delete your personal information.
• Opt out of the sale of personal information. Note: We do not sell your personal information.
• Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

7. Children's Privacy

Grayne is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@grayne.app and we will take steps to delete such information.

8. International Users

Grayne is currently available on the U.S. App Store. If you access the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
